Aquinas upsets Davenport in WHAC semi’s

The Aquinas men’s basketball team upset #8 Davenport on the Panthers home court Saturday in the WHAC semifinals. The 79-77 win secured a spot in the WHAC title game against Cornerstone on Tuesday night. The win also locked down the second automatic bid to the NAIA National Championships in Branson, Missouri. The Saints improved to 19-13, while Davenport fell to 24-8 on the season. The Saints were led by Arsenio Arrington’s game of the year.  Arrington sprung for 26 points on 7-of-8 shooting from the field and 12-of-14 from the line.  He also accounted for seven rebounds in the win.  Jake Bullock added 17 points and seven rebounds, while Opeyemi Sholesi  tallied ten points and seven rebounds off the bench. Panthers senior Nick Gamble scored a team-high 24 points.
