Artworks from more than 90 artists, live music and yummy foods will be on hand when the Paseo Arts Festival opens its 42nd annual festival on the Memorial Day weekend, May 26-28. Oh, and there will be lots of performers, in addition to the musicians.
Look for original artwork, everything from painting, ceramics and photography to woodworking, sculpture and jewelry.
In addition to all of the above, something new has been added: three great beers from Coop Ale Works, Briefcase Brown, Negative Spit and Spare Rib Pale Ale, all on tap and ice-cold.
The children’s area, at the corner of NW 29th Street and N. Dewey Avenue, allows future artists to explore the arts and have fun while creating.
Parking? Of course. The Paseo Express, a shuttle bus, will run every 15 minutes to the parking lot at First Christian Church at NW 36th Street and N. Walker Avenue. Shuttle hours will be from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. May 26 and 27 and from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on May 28.
This festival is the Paseo Arts Association’s largest fundraiser, enabling the association to offer arts programs and events in the Paseo year-round.
Incidentally, a festival also requires a lot of volunteers, so if you’ve got time that weekend, you might offer to volunteer a few hours. Just call 405-525-2688. For more information, visit thepaseo.org.
