Branson, Mo. – Sports Destination Management, the leading publication with the largest circulation of sports event planners and tournament directors in the sports tourism market, has announced the 2019 Champions of Economic Impact in Sports Tourism. This year’s winners are responsible for contributing more than $1 billion to the national economy over the past year.
Among the winners was Babe Ruth League’s Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series, produced in cooperation with the Branson Chamber and Convention & Visitors Bureau.
The 2019 Cal Ripken Major/70 World Series included champions from throughout the United States and 9 other countries. Babe Ruth League has been a true community partner. In addition to the Direct Visitor Spending resulting from this tournament, thirty-four (34) games aired live on Stadium from Aug. 2-10. In 2019, Babe Ruth League, Inc. finalized an agreement with Varsity Scoreboards to be the Official Scoreboard Manufacturer of Babe Ruth League. As a part of the agreement, Babe Ruth League organized the donation of a 16×9 videoboard ($80,000) and scoreboard to Branson, MO. This videoboard was installed at Ballparks of America in hopes to not only elevate the facility and event but to allow the community of Branson to enjoy events at Ballparks of America including outdoor movie nights and other festivities.
