He said it will be shown for the first time — and the only time for a while — at 6 p.m. Sunday, June 3, at the Mansion Theater in Branson located at 189 Expressway Lane.BALDKNOBBER is a feature film based on the true story of “The League of Law and Order” in the Ozark Mountains of Taney County Missouri during the 1880s. The organization grew to be nearly 1,000 strong and their reputation was known as far away as New York and London via news reports. Their goal was to rid the land of bushwhackers, murderers and thieves in the county. This film portrays the story of the vigilante group and the impact it had on the individuals and families involved.

The making of the movie included:• 72 featured actors;• over 100 riders on horses;• 500 background extras;• 62 scenes shot in 42 different locations in Missouri and Arkansas. Many scenes were shot at the actual location of the original event of the 1880s.One of the key scenes was the hanging of three members of the notorious vigilante gang who were put to death for crimes they committed during their reign of terror.Johnson said that scene and the footage shot in Harrison is in the movie and he hopes people in Harrison get the chance to see it, adding that he is reaching out to Harrison because so much was done to help with the production.
