Bluff City Radio enters into new management agreement

Bluff City Radio LLC, owner of radio stations KTPB, the Hog 98.1, KHUC, Super Oldies 99.3, KPBA, The Beat, 101.3 and KTRN, K-Train 104.5 announced recently that they have entered into a local management agreement with PB Radio LLC to operate the stations, according to a news release.
As a separate business, PB Radio will be responsible for all aspects of the radio stations’ operation from April 1, 2018, going forward, the news release said.
Bluff City Radio LLC will remain as the licensee of the radio stations, but PB Radio will be the new operator with an option to purchase the stations. Paul Coates and former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee own Bluff City Radio. Coates and Huckabee also own radio properties in the Tyler, Longview market of Texas and are operating stations in Harrison, Arkansas, and Branson, Missouri.
PB Radio is owned by Mike and Alpha Horne. Mike Horne has been acting as the manager of the Pine Bluff Radio stations since December 2016. Horne has previously owned radio stations in Russellville and Searcy, Arkansas, Muskogee, Oklahoma, Greenville, Texas, and El Dorado, Kansas.
According to the news release, before coming to Pine Bluff, Horne was the chief operating officer for the Crain Media Group, a division of Crain Automotive and Investments. While at Crain Media Group, Horne was responsible for the operation of radio stations in Little Rock, Conway, Searcy and Batesville, Arkansas.
Before selling his radio property in Russellville, Horne was active in the Russellville Chamber of Commerce and was a past president of that organization and a past president of the Russellville Industrial Development Commission as well as the Arkansas Broadcasters Association.
