BRANSON MO NEWS: Betty Lou (Barrett) Boeker, 78, passed away peacefully at St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital in Houston surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, March 10, 2018.

Betty was born July 30, 1939 to Halbert and Lucille (Reinhardt) Barrett of the Raccoon Bend community of Austin County. She attended school in Bellville. On June 8, 1957, she married the love of her life, Barkley “B.Y.” Boeker. Betty and B.Y. were faithful members of Grace Lutheran Church and they raised their family in Brenham. Betty ran a daycare out of her home for 27 years and adored children. Betty was known as everybody’s “Nana.” She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a doting grandmother and her grandchildren were the light of her world. B.Y. and Betty took annual trips to see the Grand Ole Opry and vacations to Branson, Missouri and to Canada. Betty was a wonderful cook and loved to watch cooking shows — specifically “Pioneer Woman” — to gather new recipes. Betty was an avid fan of the Houston Astros, westerns, and a faithful follower of “The Young and the Restless.”
