Branson man gets 10 years after trading meth for guns

Waters, 55, was sentenced to the prison time on Monday after he pleaded guilty in September to possessing meth with intent to distribute and possessing firearms in furtherance of a drug-trafficking crime, according to a news release from the U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Missouri.In May 2015, the release says, authorities were investigating the burglary of a firearms dealer in Carroll County, Arkansas, in which multiple guns were stolen, when they discovered that some of the stolen guns had been traded to Waters in exchange for drugs.Officers then contacted Waters at the Shady Oak Motel on Highway 76 in Branson and found four of the stolen guns inside a safe in his motel room, according to the release.Also during the search of Waters’ motel room, the release says, officers found 130 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia and a water bottle with $592 inside of it.The release says this case was investigated by the Branson Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.Read or Share …
