Branson names new police chief

BRANSON NEWS: The city of Branson named Stanley Dobbins its newest police chief Tuesday. Dobbins had been serving as the city’s interim chief since the retirement of Kent Crutcher in May.

According to a statement from the city, Dobbins was one of four final candidates selected by a panel composed of diverse sitting Police Chiefs across the state of Missouri facilitated by the Missouri Police Chiefs Association in Jefferson City.

A national search was conducted through early July that produced 18 qualified applicants screened and approved by the MPCA panel of chiefs, which was then narrowed to nine semi-finalists. The semi-finalists interviewed …
