BRANSON, Mo. – The city of Branson has promoted Police Chief Stanley Dobbins to City Administrator.Dobbins’ promotion takes effect on January 1, 2018. Dobbins has served in dual roles as both the interim City Administrator as well as Police Chief since May 24, 2017.“The Board of Aldermen selected Stan Dobbins to fill the role of City Administrator because of the excellent leadership skills he exhibited while serving in dual roles of Interim City Administrator and Chief of Police since May 2017,” Mayor Karen Best says.Chief Dobbins who has more than 37 years of experience in law enforcement, came to Branson in 2012 as an Assistant Police Chief. He remained in that role until 2016, when he was promoted to Police Chief after the retirement of former Chief Kent Crutcher.Before coming to Branson, Dobbins was with Gladstone, Missouri police department for 27 years.“I am truly humbled to be selected to serve this great community that I have come to love and am proud to call home. The citizens of this community are like family to me, and I have taken great pride in maintaining the safety of both our residents, businesses and guests,” Dobbins says.
