Cherokees fund campaign for Arkansas casinos

LITTLE ROCK (AP) — Cherokee Nation Businesses has given $400,000 to a group working to legalize casinos in three Arkansas counties.

According to a campaign finance report filed Thursday, the tribe’s business arm made the contribution in August to Arkansas Winning Initiative Inc., which is pushing the proposed constitutional amendment allowing casinos in Boone, Miller and Washington counties.
