Column: Clark and his former players share one last basketball experience together

BRANSON MO NEWS: I can understand why so many former players came back to Flagler College Saturday to celebrate Bo Clark Day.
Their time in his presence as a coach was a special time in their lives.
Those years with the Flagler men’s basketball program were certainly filled with memories of games in Flagler’s tiny gym. If they were lucky, they got to experience some of those raucous games against Embry-Riddle — filled with student chants that can’t be repeated here.
And if they were really lucky and good enough to play in Flagler’s golden era (2000-06), some of those playing days included the experiences of conference championships and long bus rides to Branson, Missouri, for the NAIA Div. II national tournament and eating whole roasted chickens at the Dixie Stampede.
I know those were great times because I shared a lot of those experiences with Clark and the players. (But not the bus ride to Branson because I didn’t like them enough to spend four days on the road with them.)
