Coyotes clip Tiger men in Branson shootout, ending DWU season

BRANSON MO NEWS: DWU (23-10) trailed for most of the contest and for long stretches by double digits, but DWU kept making runs at the Coyotes. However, each time the Tigers got some momentum, College of Idaho grabbed it right back with big shot after big shot.“It was one of those games where it just felt like we were always fighting and just couldn’t get over the hump to make a run and do something to really put them in jeopardy,” DWU coach Matt Wilber said.The Tigers still had chances late, but missed free throws hampered hopes of a late game rally. The Coyotes, meanwhile, converted at the foul line to secure the win.“Credit to College of Idaho and how they responded to everyone of our runs,” DWU senior point guard Tate Martin said. “We would hit some shots and they would go down and score a couple. We just couldn’t get stops at the times we needed stops.”Trae Vandeberg tossed in a game-high 27 points for the Tigers.
