Female Identified in Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Branson

BRANSON, Mo- The Branson Police Department has identified the female in the fatal pedestrian crash from Friday on Highway 65.The female has been identified as 33-year-old Amber Lawson of Branson.”[After] talking with family a little bit, we know she was walking on 65, but we don’t know why she crossed and where she crossed at is not commonplace to cross 65. Right there is a divided highway, it’s four-lanes, and there’s no access for pedestrians besides walking from the roadway either from 76 or 248, so we don’t really know why she was on the roadway at the time,” Sgt. Stanley Kauffman saidAccording to a news release, the incident happened in the northbound lanes of Highway 65 and 248 around 8:30 p.m.A Chevy truck was traveling in the passing lane of northbound Highway 65 when Lawson walked into the path of the truck. According to an updated news release, preliminary information shows no impairment of the driver.The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
