BRANSON MO NEWS: FORSYTHE, MO. – Genevieve Whetstone, 89, of Forsyth, formerly of Rock Falls, died Monday, May 15, 2017, at Cox Health Hospital in Branson, Missouri.
Genevieve was born April 6, 1928, in Qulin, Missouri, the daughter of Edward and Essie (Brim) Mobley. She married Homer Whetstone on May 19, 1951. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2006. She was employed at Lawrence Brothers for 20 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Sharon (Brad) Lierman of Forsyth; one son, Gary (Rebecca) Whetstone of Rock Falls; three stepgrandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Louis Mobley; and one sister, Mary Lou Ferris.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with Pastor Loren Schlomer of Amazing Grace Church in Sterling officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
