Earlier this week, Bartlesville Doenges Ford Indians head coach Anthoney Towers hoped his team would build on its momentum from last weekendHe got his wish. The Indians dropped two opponents on Thursday — by identical scores of 3-1 — in a high-school aged/American Legion baseball tournament in the Branson (Mo.) area.Boasting solid pitching and defense, the Doenges crew turned back two Missouri squads — Sedelia and Hollister.Towers called on six different hurdlers — three in each game — to lead the way and preserve arms for the tourney’s 10-inning pitching rule.Grant Yardley, Noah Yearout and Harald Borg helped fuel Bartlesville’s offensive jolt. The Indians improved to 5-1 on the season. They are slated to play at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. on Friday. For the complete report on Thursday’s wins, see Friday’s E-E sports pages.
