The Cal Ripken baseball team managed just two hits in a 6-0 loss to Alabama at the Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, Missouri. The loss drops Hudson to 1-2 in Group A
Max Person doubled, but it was one of only two hits the Hudson Cal Ripken team could muster in a 6-0 loss to Alabama on Monday evening in the Cal Ripken World Series in Branson, Missouri.
The loss drops Hudson, the New England champion, to 1-2 in group play. Depending on the outcome of Tuesday’s game between Idaho and Prince George’s, Maryland, Hudson will either play on Wednesday morning as the third place team in Group A or its tournament will be over as the fourth place team in the group.
Eduardo Rodriguez had the other hit for Hudson, and stole two bases.
Connor Madden started for Hudson and gave up three runs on six hits in five innings while striking out four and walking two. Teddy McFarland pitched the sixth and allowed three runs on two hits and a walk.
Alex Thigpen pitched for Alabama and struck out six while throwing a two-hit shutout.
