BRANSON MO NEWS: Visitation for James Earl Shepard, 72, of Ridgedale, was held Jan. 4, 2018, from 4:30-6 p.m., at Snapp-Bearden Funeral Home and Crematory in Branson. Funeral services were held Jan. 5, 2018, 10 a.m., at the funeral home with Pastor Billie Rogers officiating. Burial followed in Nickerson Cemetery in Kimberling City.He died Jan. 2, 2018.

James was born Sept. 5, 1945, in Orville, Calif., son of Willard and Myrtle Owen Shepard. His family moved to Taney County when he was a toddler. He worked for Royal Oak Charcoal as a driver along with being a hunter and trapper. He was also a skilled woodworker. He married his wife Ruth, March 11, 1972.He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother Gene Shepard.

Survivors include his wife, of Ridgedale; sons Alfred Shepard, of Ridgedale, Vince Shepard, of Rockaway Beach, Willie Shepard, of Ridgedale, and Gabe Shepard and wife Melissa, of Ridgedale; brothers Wayne Shepard and Glen Shepard; sisters Rosanna Herbert and husband Bub, of Buffalo, Mo., Norma Cunningham and husband Kenny, of Springfield, Pam Pfrommer, of Cedarcreek; five granddaughters, three grandsons, and a great-granddaughter.Memorials may be made to Missouri Council of the Blind, 5453 Chippewa, St. Louis, MO 63109.
