BRANSON, Mo. — The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission met in Branson Friday to talk about upcoming projects around the state.Representatives from Northwest Arkansas also attended the meeting to discuss projects they have that go in and out of Missouri, such as trails and Interstate 49.City officials, county commissioners and local business leaders talked about improvements they’d like to see done in the Ozarks to ease traffic congestion.”With the tourists area there are still some delays at locations for just getting traffic through some intersections, so those are the types of jobs the county commissioners and city administrators bring up through the local planning group, through the planning process, and the kind of jobs we’re talking about trying to find a way to fund,” Travis Koestner, district engineer with MoDOT Southwest District, said. How drivers behave behind the wheel was also on the agenda.About 63 percent of all of Missouri’s traffic crash fatalities were unbuckled.
