Myer Hotels Completes Largest Commercial Solar Panel Project In Branson.

BRANSON, MO – Myer Hotels has finished the largest solar panel installation as a private company in Branson and becomes the first hotel company in Branson to utilize solar panels to increase energy efficiency among multiple properties.

Myer Hotels recently partnered with numerous organizations to install solar panels at five of their hotel locations. “The installation consisted of five 25KW systems comprising of almost 500 panels. It is a collaboration between Myer Hotels, Empire Electric, The USDA, and Missouri Sun Solar,” said Gail Myer, VP of Operations

According to the Solar Energy Industries Association, ‘Solar technologies offer a number of environmental benefits such as the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and waste over fuel-based energy sources. Solar energy also plays an important role in transitioning the U.S. to a low-carbon, sustainable future (Solar Energy Industries Association).’

By placing solar panels at the hotel properties, the company will be able to reduce the amount of electricity that is being used. Solar panels have become an efficient option to benefit the environment, as well as the company’s operations. “We also worked hard to minimize the visual aspect of the solar panels so that guests hardly see them,” Myer said.

Jason Fulp, Manager of Marketing and Public Relations of Missouri Sun Solar provided information about the benefits of solar panels. “Solar panels will last 30-40 years, there is ultimately no maintenance involved, and the company will be able to depreciate the cost of solar panels for 5 years. Solar panels also provide benefits to the state, help with job creation, and climate benefits.”

Fulp says, “The company was able to receive government grants such as USDA grants through the REAP program, Empire Electric rebates, and tax cuts to help with the installation. In the end, the company will be able to save thousands of dollars in electric bills.”
