CANTON, Mo. Roberta Bobbie G. Nelson, 90, formerly of West Burlington, Iowa, died 11:28 a.m. Sunday, June 10, 2018, at the Lewis County Nursing Home, in Canton.Born July 6, 1927, in St. Joseph, she was the daughter or Cecil and Freda (Biggerstaff) Maxey Phillips.She married Roy Nelson Sr. on November 9, 1946, in Troy, Missouri. He died February 10, 2007.Bobbie worked for many years in the bookkeeping department at Benner Tea Co. She retired in 1978.She was a member of West Burlington Christian Church.She was a Primetimer and enjoyed golfing and traveling in their motor home. She previously lived in McAllen, Texas, for about 12 years and Branson, Missouri, for about 10 years.Survivors include: her daughter, Carol (John) Hunderdosse, of West Burlington; son, Roy (Karen) Nelson Jr., of Canton; four grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.She was preceded in death by: her parents; husband; and one sister.The memorial funeral service for Mrs. Nelson will be 2 p.m. Thursday, June 14, at Lunning Chapel.The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service. The Rev. Steven Parker will officiate.Inurnment will follow at Aspen Grove Cemetery.A memorial has been established for West Burlington Christian Church. As published in the St. Joseph News-Press.
