BRANSON MISSOURI NEWS: One man is dead and two people, including a Taney County Sheriff’s deputy, are injured after gunfire was exchanged early Friday.

At approximately 2 a.m., two Taney County Sheriff deputies and a Missouri state trooper located a vehicle that may have been involved in a chase in Branson, according to Missouri State Highway Patrol Sgt. Jason Pace.

The vehicle was at a residence along Boo Boo Boulevard at Big Bear Resort in Hollister, Pace said.

A man and a woman exited the residence. The man displayed a gun, exchanged gunfire with the officers and was shot, Pace said. The man later “succumbed to his injuries at the scene,” he said.

The female suspect and a Taney County Sheriff deputy were also shot, but do not face any life-threatening injuries, Pace said. Both were transported to a hospital.

No names have been released and the incident is under investigation, Pace said.
