BRANSON MO NEWS: Philip Wayne Pearson, 61, of Branson, has donated his body to science, per his wishes. He died May 12, 2018.

Phil “Freebird” was born Sept. 14, 1956, in Hammond, Ind., son of Joel and Lois Bottorff Pearson. He was a self-taught young boy and spanned over 40 years as a guitarist, touring with numerous southern rock and country artists. Most recently with South Bound Train of Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his wife, Elisabeth Armstrong Pearson; daughters, Jennifer Lynn Pearson Clark and husband Christopher and Kristy Anne Pearson Montesano and husband Michael; step-daughter, April Christine Hough and husband Sean; brothers, Timothy Pearson and wife Constance and David Pearson and wife Julie;two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren. To leave online condolences, visit cremationsoftheozarks.com.
