BRANSON MO NEWS: (Bridgeton, MO) — A St. Louis attorney says there are now five homes contaminated by radiation in the Spanish Village subdivision, a Bridgeton neighborhood near the West Lake Landfill. Attorney Winston Calvert had already filed a lawsuit against the landfill owner on behalf of one of those homeowners. He says the radiation is directly linked to the landfill. Republic Services, owner of the landfill, has questioned the validity of the unsigned memo Calvert offers as evidence. The E-P-A has ruled there is no threat to the public health.(Kansas City, MO) — When Garth Brooks fans poured out the Sprint Center in downtown Kansas City Sunday night, many planned to ride the streetcar to their vehicles. One big problem — the streetcar was shut down for maintenance and those country music fans got to hike a few blocks in their cowboy shoes after spending hours on their feet. The city has apologized, saying what are called “track slab repairs” had to be made — and to give the concrete time to cure, the streetcar service had to be stopped before the concert was over. No buses were provided to take the streetcar’s place.
