BRANSON MO NEWS: The Missouri softball team will resume its series opening contest against No. 8 Auburn on Saturday after Friday’s game was suspended in the top of the fifth inning following a lengthy rain delay.Auburn held a 3-0 lead with one out in the top of the fifth inning when the home-plate umpire called for a rain delay because of pitchers’ complaints about the slickness of the ball.

The two teams will pick up where they left off at 1 p.m. Saturday, with the previously scheduled Saturday afternoon game set to start 30 minutes after its conclusion. The only runs of the game came courtesy of Auburn’s designated player, Tannon Snow, who smacked a three-run home run off Missouri’s Madi Norman in the top of the fourth inning.
