Riverbank Performing Arts Academy in Marine City adds winter programs

BRANSON MO NEWS: Coming off the heels of a highly successful summer theater program, Marine City’s Riverbank Theatre is opening up its new performing arts academy to young actors year-round.The performing arts academy was launched earlier this year in an effort to enhance students’ knowledge of the art of performance in the theater and build well-rounded and confident young performers. A weeklong summer camp, which sold out in five days, invited students to participate in acting, vocal and dance workshops, culminating in a 45-minute musical performance of Disney’s “The Jungle Book KIDS.”This winter, the academy will offer six-week sessions for students in kindergarten through 12th grade.“We are convinced that there is a need for solid arts education in this area, especially with elementary-age students,” said Aaron Smith, director of the Riverbank Performing Arts Academy. “We thought it would be a good idea to expand our offerings for kids from only one summer camp to year-round.
