BRANSON MO NEWS: RUSSELLVILLE — Balloons over RussVegas returns to Russellville May 4-6, bringing 20 hot air balloons, helicopter rides, powered parachute flights and much more family fun.By popular demand the event has been moved back to the original location at the Russellville Soccer Complex, 901 Lock and Dam Road.

Balloons over RussVegas has been one of Russellville’s most popular and well-received festivals since its beginning in 2013. The founder and organizer of the event, Rodney Williams, is originally from the Russellville area and now resides in Branson, Missouri. Williams owns and operates the hot air balloon ride business “Branson Balloon.” He has been flying balloons over 25 years and attends as well as organizes balloon festivals all across the U.S.“Russellville is a beautiful place to fly, and the weather has been ideal for flying in Russellville the past several years. That is one of the reasons we have decided to keep the event in May.” In 2016 the balloon event was moved to the Pope County Fairgrounds in order to provide more parking and better accommodations for the vendors and entertainment. However, most everyone including the organizers who made the decision to move the event agreed that this was detrimental to the overall atmosphere for the balloon festival,” Williams said.
