Roweton brothers, Patterson to be honored by MSHOF Oct. 17

Bolivar graduates Lance and Brock Roweton and SBU graduate Kevin Patterson will receive the “Elite 11” award at the Missouri Sports Hall of Fame Wednesday, Oct. 17, in Springfield. Along with those award winners, six new MSHOF inductees at the luncheon that day.Lance RowetonLance Roweton, the current principal at Halfway High School, is a 1994 Bolivar graduate and two-time all-state quarterback for the Liberators. He led the team to the Class 3 state championship game in 1992 and the state semifinals the following year. Lance was also an all-COC selection in football, basketball and baseball.
After graduation, Lance played two years each at Southwest Baptist University and William Jewell College in Liberty. At SBU, Lance was an all-MIAA selection at quarterback and first-team all-Heart of America Athletic Conference selection at Jewell. He also played baseball for the Cardinals for one season at Liberty.Lance started his coaching career at Ash Grove, where he finished 23-10 in four seasons. The Pirates made it to the state semifinals in 2002. He then moved to his alma mater, Bolivar, guiding the Liberators to a 116-32 record in 13 seasons winning the COC every season during his tenure, guiding BHS on a 65-game winning streak. The Liberators won five district titles and had four trips to the state quarterfinals.Brock Roweton
A 1997 Bolivar High School graduate, Brock Roweton was a first-team all-COC selection for football, basketball and baseball, as well as an all-district selection in football and baseball.Brock played football and baseball at Evangel University in Springfield, including two seasons as a starting quarterback for the Crusaders. Brock was an honorable mention all-HAAC at Evangel in 1999, when he was also the team MVP of the season.
