SDHS welcomes The Cat’s Pajamas
BRANSON MO NEWS: WESTPORT – The choirs of South Decatur High School (SDHS) will welcome vocal band and a cappella group The Cat’s Pajamas for a concert at 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 in the school Cafetorium.“The Cat’s Pajamas is a vocal band and a cappella group based out of Branson, Missouri,” said SDHS Choir Director Matt Diehl.The group has been featured on several television shows, including NBC’s The Sing Off. One of Diehl’s students traveled to Missouri with his family and attended a show by The Cat’s Pajamas in Branson. Later browsing their website, the student discovered the group participates in a Music in the Schools program every year. While they normally don’t branch out as far as Indiana, when Diehl invited them to perform at SDHS, they agreed.
“They’re essentially an a cappella cover band. They do ‘50s, ‘60s, ‘70s, ‘80s, probably some ‘90s in there, too. They do a range of different things, from some of the older doo-wop stuff to some of the more current stuff out there. They definitely do an array of different music. The majority of what they do is pop, but they kind of run all decades …
