Second escaped inmate caught in Branson West area

PINEVILLE, Mo. — The second inmate who escaped from the McDonald County jail Wednesday was caught in Stone County at 7:30 a.m. today, according to the McDonald County police.Christopher Walker, 19, of Lanagan, was found in the Branson West area and is still in the custody of Stone County police, according to McDonald County Sheriff Michael Hall. He and another inmate, John Weeks, 22, of Hiwasse, Ark., slipped out of the jail and were discovered missing sometime before Wednesday night’s headcount. Weeks was apprehended in Longview Thursday afternoon. The two escaped from the shower area of the jail after gaining access through an air conditioning duct and then out via the jail’s new construction area. Officers also said the two men allegedly stole a Dodge Caravan, which was later found between Goodman and Anderson. 
Weeks was being held in the jail on charges of first-degree assault and armed criminal action stemming from a May 1 incident in which a police officer was injured.After a vehicle Weeks was driving was stopped by a Pineville police officer, Weeks allegedly tried to drive away as the officer reached inside the vehicle to prevent it from leaving, Hall said at the time.
