BRANSON, Mo. – A jury trial is scheduled in Taney County Circuit Court for the man accused of murdering Jasmine Miller, 6, of Branson in 2015.Over the defendant’s objections, Judge Jason Brown set the trial of 58-year-old John Roberts of Branson to begin on September 24th. An evidentiary hearing is scheduled for August 3rd.This after Judge Brown permitted an additional psychological examination for Roberts, which was limited in scope.Previous Story: Arraignment scheduled today in Branson child murder caseLast year, Roberts was declared competent to stand trial after several hearings before Taney County Associate Circuit Judge Eric Eighmy. He was previously deemed unfit for trial while under the supervision of the Missouri Department of Mental Health.

Roberts was arrested on February 21st, 2015, after Branson Police found Jasmine Miller’s body in his hotel room. The cause of death was determined to be strangulation.Roberts reportedly told investigators he was high on methamphetamine when the incident occurred.
