Shooting leaves one man dead, another in jail

BRANSON MO NEWS: A man is dead after being shot in a home near Branson, and a suspect is in jail, according to the Taney County Sheriff’s Office.

According to a press release from Taney County Sheriff Jimmie Russell, his department was called to a house on Rainbow Drive at about 8 p.m. Monday. The caller said a man had entered a home, shot another man inside the residence and then fled in the victim’s vehicle.

Deputies arrived at the home and found the deceased man. After dispatching information about the suspect, Missouri State Highway Patrol officers located the suspect and vehicle at the intersection of Missouri 165 and 76 Country Boulevard, and took the suspect into custody, according to Russell. He was taken into custody without incident, according to Russell.
