Thrasher, Reusch top candidates to anchor Bobcats' bullpen

BRANSON MO NEWS: The long road Collan Thrasher traveled on his way to proving himself at the college level last season started in Atlanta and actually ended in Atlanta.

The irony of suburban Atlanta, Georgia, being the site of his finest moment thus far at College of the Ozarks had been lost on Thrasher, a native of Atlanta, Missouri.

Little wonder, given his hometown’s population is 382 and metro Atlanta’s population of 5.7 million is ninth nationally.

“The only thing that felt at home to me was the name,” Thrasher said, referring to the Bobcats’ trip to Georgia Gwinnett for the Association Of Independent Institutions Tournament. “That was a sight to see. You want to talk about streets and buildings. It sure wasn’t like my hometown, where you see people along the street and know everybody by name and who lives where.

“It was the time of my life to explore the big city and get to play the game I love.”

Meanwhile, Chad Reusch was closing his Branson career in grand style last spring. He earned All-State and All-Tri Lakes Player Of The Year honors.
