Titanic Museum hopes to draw in more visitors with new costume

BRANSON, Mo. – It may be hard to believe, but 2017 marks the 20th anniversary of the release of the second highest-grossing movie of all time, “Titanic”. And, you don’t even have to leave Southwest Missouri to see some of the actual costumes worn in the award-winning epic.”The big thing that wows everybody when they turn the corner and they see the life jacket that Kate Winslet wore,” explained museum co-owner Mary Kellogg-Joslyn. “We know she wore it because she signed it”The film garnered 11 Academy Awards including best costume design. And for a limited amount of time, you can see several of them along with the regular cost of admission to the museum.”So, we thought we would honor Jim and his “Titanic” movie by bringing in all the costumes from 20th Century Fox,” Kellogg-Joslyn added. “So, we spent a year with 20th Century collecting these costumes and now for the first time, they are on display, including Rose’s corset.”Kellogg-Joslyn says the attraction offers something for the whole family, but the temporary collection is a must-see for women.”We’re very excited that this collection has been well-received, especially young girls with their moms,” said Kellogg-Joslyn. ” …
