Tri-State Fair entertainment includes legend Moe Bandy

The Tri-State Fair and Rodeo offers a plethora of entertainment options through Saturday — including exhibits, specialty shows and live music performances.
Among those who’ll be taking the stage is Texas Country Music Hall of Fame member Moe Bandy.
Bandy will perform with his Americana band at the Amarillo Tri-State Fair at 9:30 p.m. Friday on the Bud Light Stage. The chart-topper with roots in Texas said he is eager to play to the local crowd.
Bandy said “it’s been a long time, at least a couple of years” since his last concert in Amarillo, but he’s glad to be back.
“They’re my kind of folks,” Bandy said of Texas Panhandle crowds. “I always enjoyed playing in Amarillo.”
He said concert attendees can expect a good time and a good show.
“I like to sing, tell stories, cut up and have a big time,” Bandy said.
Those in attendance can also expect to hear cuts from Bandy’s new album, “Lucky Me.” Bandy said incorporated the old when making his new music, noting that he wanted to make sure he brought in some of the original musicians he worked with in the past such as Jimmy Capps, who Bandy said produced and played guitar on “Lucky Me.”
Bandy said special guest performers on the album include the Oak Ridge Boys, Ricky Skaggs, and Riders in the Sky.
Bandy said “Lucky Me” was a lot of fun to make saying that he enjoyed putting together a combination of the old, traditional sound while also mixing in some new sound and technology.
The singer not only enjoys performing, but as a result of a career he loves, he has enjoyed many music-related successes. In addition to 10 No. 1 hits, Bandy’s accomplishments include 40 Top 10 singles, 66 charted releases and five Gold …
