BRANSON MO NEWS: Wayne C. Hill, age 81, of Waterville, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at Blue Valley Senior Living in Blue Rapids.Wayne was born August 10, 1936, in Washington, to Wymond C. and Alma A. (Bonin) Hill. He attended Spring Valley Country School, which was built by his great-great grandfather, Peter Coy Hill. He graduated from Waterville High School in 1954 and attended Kansas State until joining the US Navy in 1956, serving 4 years aboard the USS Eldorado.
On August 6, 1961, in Manhattan, he married Carol L. Genschorck and moved to Kansas City were he joined the Chubb Insurance Group as a Boiler Inspector. He retired 30 years later as Manager of the Mechanical Engineering Department and moved to Branson, Missouri. In 2005, he & Carol moved to Waterville. He was a member of the Waterville United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife Carol, his two sons; Mark Hill of Manhattan and Steven (Trish) Hill of Overland Park, a granddaughter, Jessie and a sister Patricia (Roger) Boltz of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister Ann Hill.
Viewing is from noon to 8:00 pm, Thursday, with visitation between 6:30 and 8:00 pm, at Terry-Christie Funeral Home in Waterville.
Funeral services are at 10:30 am, Friday, July 6, 2018 at the United Methodist Church in Waterville with Pastor Jim Akins officiating. Beverly Hedke is the organist, music is to include a congregational hymn of “He Touched Me” and two recorded pieces including “Go Rest High On That Mountain” and “You Raise Me Up”. Casket bearers are; Brad Roepke, Terry Roepke, Mike Hill, Brandon Hoffman, Mark Hill and Steven Hill. Honorary Bearers are; Alvin Roepke, Norman Roepke, Dean Anderson, Kenny Winkenwader and Jim Livergood. Burial is at Riverside Cemetery in Waterville. Military honors provided by an Honors Detail from the US Navy and Springer Post 332 of the American Legion at Waterville.
