White River Electric, SDC, announce partnership
BRANSON MO NEWS: Representatives from Silver Dollar City announced this week that White River Valley Electric Cooperative will serve as the official ride sponsor for the new Time Traveler coaster.According to a release from Silver Dollar City, this is a “first-of-its-kind” partnership for the 1880s theme park.“Silver Dollar City has a decades-long history of working with White River Electric Cooperative,” said President of Silver Dollar City Attractions Brad Thomas. “As we literally move toward the future, Time Traveler gives us the opportunity to work together in numerous ways, to benefit the Cooperative and our neighboring communities.
“Our friends at White River Electric understand the power of the marketing of this ride, and what this ride will do for not only Silver Dollar City, but for our entire region.”The announcement was made Wednesday afternoon during a special luncheon for the Branson-Hollister Rotary Club.Thomas said the partnership will not only help market Time Traveler, but also the upcoming “Dream Big Do Good” outreach programs, which will officially be announced soon. According to White River Valley Electric Cooperative CEO Chris Hamon, the economic impact expected to accompany the new $26 million ride is an important reason the partnership was formed.“The partnership with Silver Dollar City is a unique opportunity to drive tourism to Southwest Missouri,” Hamon said. “People across the globe will come to see this attraction. They will travel here, eat here, shop here, sleep here and more, making this partnership monumental for the economic development of many businesses in our region.“One of the things we’re a part of is called Touchstone Energy, which is a marketing tool electric cooperatives put together years ago.
