BRANSON MO NEWS:
Springfield, MO – (1//14/2018)A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for the Missouri Ozarks, including Springfield, Branson, and the Lake of the Ozarks regions through Noon Monday. Light to at times moderate snow is expected to develop after Midnight, and last into the morning hours of Monday. Snow will initially move into the Highway 54 corridor affecting areas from Osceola to Lake of the Ozarks around or just after Midnight, and then will spread south to the I-44 corridor by 3 to 4am. While generally light snow is expected, there could be brief periods of moderate or even heavy snow creating limited visibility. In addition, thanks to recent cold temperatures and snow already on the ground, any additional snow that falls will immediately begin to accumulate. This will create slick and hazardous driving conditions for the Monday morning commute. Winds will also pick up during the morning, and may result in blowing and drifting snow as well as limited visibility. Widespread 1/2 to 1 inch snow amounts are expected, with the highest amounts across southwest Missouri where up to 2 inches of snow may fall. This is in addition to the snow that fell Sunday morning.
