BRANSON MO NEWS: BRANSON, Mo. — A woman that many have called a Branson icon, has passed away.The community is mourning the death of 92-year-old Jean Cantwell.Family members say Cantwell fell and hit her head on the sidewalk in front of her home Tuesday evening. She was taken to Cox Health Center in Branson, where she died Tuesday night. Wednesday, family and friends are remembering Cantwell for the legacy of the culture she brought to Branson through the arts.It was just last month when the Branson Regional Arts Council merged with the Tri-Lakes Community Theater in Branson — that Cantwell sat down to talk with KOLR 10’s Chrystal Blair.”The whole thing will be much stronger…we’ll reach more people,” Cantwell said.A very talented oboe player herself, Cantwell was also president of the Tri-Lakes Community Theater and she was on the first advisory board the Missouri State Council on the Arts. In addition, she and her late husband Clay Cantwell gave a generous donation to the Cancer Center at Cox in Branson. “The Cantwell support of the Cancer Center both in its infancy and continued on has been instrumental for us growing from where we were, starting with one patient to where we are now,” said Ben Morris, President of the Cox Cancer Center in Branson.”They were great donors and sponsors of the Skaggs Foundation,” said Meghan Connell, President of the Skaggs Foundation. Family and friends shared their thoughts and memories of Jean Cantwell.”She was 92-years-old and she was healthy, said her son Brad Cantwell, “I had just taken her to the hospital about a week ago – and one of the physicians was asking her what kind of medication she was on and she said none.” Her daughter Lisa Cantwell-DeGraaf shared what she’ll miss most about …
