GILMAN CITY, Mo. Cleta Pauline Booram, 74, Gilman City, passed away Wednesday, March 28, 2018.She was born at home on September 22, 1943, in Gentry County, Missouri, the daughter of Reverend Cleo and Wilma (Chenoweth) Sexton.On July 30, 1965, she married C.V. Booram Jr., at the Melbourne Baptist Church.
Cleta grew up in Gentry County and had the privilege of attending two rural schools, the Carmack Junction School and the David School.After moving into Gentry, she attended the seventh and eighth grades there. Cleta attended Albany R-III High School for two years. After, moving, she graduated from Gilman City R-IV High School in 1961.She completed her college education at Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (now Truman State University, Kirksville, Missouri) with a BS in Elementary Education. She taught fourth grade at Gilman City, Junction City, Kansas, and fifth grade, in Tifton, Georgia, in both public and private schools.When the family moved back to Missouri to farm, she spent her time helping in whatever way she was needed as well as taking care of her family. Her family was a priority to her.Cleta enjoyed trips to Branson, Missouri, taking care of grandchildren and her quiet times in prayer and Bible study.
She was preceded in death by: her husband, C.V. Booram Jr, on November 12, 2014; her parents; and her in-laws, Charles and Lorie Booram Sr.Cleta is survived by: her children, Eric Booram, Gilman City; Debra Jackson, Cameron, Missouri; Michelle (Bob) Phelps, Charlotte, North Carolina; as well as six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.At Cletas request, there are no scheduled services.Memorials donations may be made to the Masonic Cemetery of Gilman City, in care of Roberson Funeral Home, P.O.
