BRANSON MO NEWS: A cappella group The Cat’s Pajamas gives a benefit concert for the Gibraltar School Secondary Music Boosters program on Feb. 2 at Door Community Auditorium.(Photo: Submitted)FISH CREEK – A cappella group The Cat’s Pajamas brings its 11th annual Music in Schools Tour to the Door Community Auditorium stage in a fundraising concert for the Gibraltar School Secondary Music Boosters program.The Cat’s Pajamas is a high-energy professional vocal quintet out of Branson, Missouri. Its Music in Schools Tour brings student choral clinics, school assemblies and evening shows to communities across the nation in an effort to raise money for school music programs. To date, the group has raised more than $100,000 for music education.Their goal is to inspire students, generate increased excitement and passion for music, and encourage youth to get involved in the arts. The group teaches and mentors students during the school day, focusing on singing techniques and sharing their personal journeys and testimonies about how they turned their love for music into a career.The fivesome’s concerts feature pop classics from the 1950s through the ’70s, along with works by contemporary artists such as Maroon 5, Pitbull, Ed Sheeran and Bruno Mars. It has toured internationally since 2005 and been featured on TV shows “Next Great American Band,” “America’s Got Talent” and “The Sing-Off.”The Cat’s Pajamas perform over 200 shows per year at the Andy Williams Moon River Theatre and Music City Centre Theatre in Branson, along with dates on cruise lines and at corporate shows, private parties, fairs, festivals, casinos and schools.For more about the group, go to vocalmeow.com.The Cat’s Pajamas are in concert at 7 p.m. Feb. 2 at Door Community Auditorium, 3926 State 42, Fish Creek.
