In a space no bigger than a few hundred square feet, one of downtown Terre Haute’s newest businesses offers a world of experiences with a little more than a trio of virtual reality headsets.Accushot Virtual World, on the second floor of the Star Building near the corner of Sixth and Ohio streets, allows customers to strap on a virtual reality headset and experience the world in a new way.Owners Kevin and Angela Levesque got the idea for a virtual reality business after a weekend trip to Branson, Missouri with their 14-year-old son, Ryan.
Kevin Levesque said the family happened upon a laser shooting and VR place while in Branson and couldn’t stop talking about the experience for months after.When Angela brought up the idea of starting a similar place of their own, Kevin told her to find a place and they’d see what they could put together.Tackling the challenges of putting together a business centered on video gaming’s newest technology was no small task for the Levesque’s, Kevin said.“It’s been so educational from a day-to-day basis,” Kevin Levesque said.“A lot of YouTube and extensive studying have been necessary,” Angela Levesque chimed in.
