This was a banner year for the area, and I honestly believe so much of the cool groundwork laid in 2017 will help Ozark Mountain Country reach new heights in 2018, as well as many years to come.A Whole Lotta HankIf you’re a regular reader of my stuff, you no doubt know country music superstar Hank Williams Jr. visited Ozark Mountain Country in April to perform at the Bass Pro Shops Outdoor Shooting Academy amphitheater, located past Big Cedar Lodge, as part of the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf at Big Cedar Lodge. To say I was as giddy as a schoolboy would be quite the understatement.Even though the weather was awful, the wind, rain, production issues and even a lightning delay couldn’t keep Hank from being Hank, jamming out hits like “Born to Boogie,” “The Conversation” and “Kaw Liga,” album cut classics like “Dinosaur” and “Outlaw Women,” and even a deep Lynyrd Skynyrd cut in “On The Hunt.”Not only did his voice sound as good as it always has, he seemed like he was having a great time interacting with the crowd, who were most assuredly getting “whiskey bent and hell bound.”That was either my sixth or seventh time to see “Rockin’” Randall Hank Williams live, and each concert experience brings about another “Hank Moment.” My …
