BRANSON MO NEWS: The Branson business community took a look to the future during the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Visitor’s Bureau during its Annual Membership Luncheon.Chamber President Jeff Seifried discussed the importance of having a unified, cohesive vision for the business community.“We are constantly looking at the long-range plan for businesses in our community,” Seifried said.
According to Seifried, part of that process involves the launch of the “Five in Five” initiative.“It’s coming up with five initiatives that the business community can tackle together over the next five years,” Seifried said.Seifried said peer groups, comprised from groups in business, shows and attractions, will gather and brainstorm at the end of January, and into February. Phase two, which Seifried said would occur in later March, would consist of gathering input from the entire business community.“This is one of those deals where it’s not just your chamber, it’s your business community,” Seifried said.Seifried also discussed Missouri’s State Tourism Budget. According to Seifried, the budget remains cut in half.“The tourism budget for the state was cut in half,” Seifried said. “It remains at the $10 million mark.”Seifried said he was optimistic the budget would be restored to the $20 million level.

“Everyone of, not only our legislative delegation members, but those around the state have echoed the importance of restoring the state tourism budget,” Seifried said. Also on the agenda for the chamber in 2018 involves a new home. Seifried said the organization recently signed the loan documents and is about to sign the construction documents.“This has been a journey and a path that has been set for our organization for literally years,” he said.According to Seifried, the new building, located at 4100 Gretna Road, will allow the …
