Branson hires Bridges to take over volleyball program

BRANSON MO NEWS: Branson High School didn’t have to search far to find its next volleyball coach.The school didn’t have to look outside of the Central Ozark Conference, picking Marshfield’s Kailey Bridges to take over the program at Branson.

Bridges is a Rogersville native who attended Missouri State University, and has been the head coach at Marshfield for the last four seasons.The Lady Jays’ best season under Bridges came in 2017, with a 23-8-2 finish and appearance in the Class 3 District 11 finals. Marshfield lost in straight sets in the district finals to Logan-Rogersville, which advanced to the Class 3 quarterfinals before losing to eventual state champion Jefferson City Helias.

“We welcome Kailey to our coaching staff,” Branson High School Activities Director David Large said in a release. “Her coaching skills will provide our volleyball program with a firm foundation and foster our athletes as they continue to excel on and off the court. We look forward to a great year with her at the helm.”Bridges replaces Lauren Dorris, who led the Lady Pirates to a 20-win season in her only year as the Branson coach. Dorris resigned in January to relocate out of state at the end of this school year.
