Branson, MO – Branson’s Lights of Joy has opened for the 2019 Christmas season. The event has operated since 2015 as Branson’s Gift of Lights located at Expressway Lane just north of Sight and Sound Theatre. This year marks the first year under the new name.
Steve Hager, manager of the seasonal attraction said, “It is our mission that our guests see the joy of Christmas and all it represents.” Visitors will see fantastic and brilliant LED lights that illustrate Santa and the 12 Days of Christmas, but they will also see the life of Christ represented from his nativity, to his resurrection and ascension. “At the end of the day we think there is something for everyone and it will bring joy to all. We think this name change helps support that position.”
This year is the company’s fifth year in operation. The Branson Chamber operated a similar event for many years at the same location before deciding to go a different direction. Hager said, “We felt it was important to keep this going for the community and for the families who have made this an annual tradition.” It has been a great example of the community working together. “The folks at Royal Oak Charcoal, APAC and Treasure Lake RV Park are great to work with and the neighbors in the area are wonderful too,” Hager said. “There are countless others who help make it all come together.”
Lights of Joy opened to families, limousines, and motor coaches at dusk on November 1 and is open nightly through January 1. The light drive–thru is a little over a mile long and lined on both sides with hundreds of displays as well as an RGB tunnel to drive thru.
