Branson, Missouri, Police say they are investigating a reported carjacking reported early Tuesday morning on Highway 165 near Table Rock Dam.A Harrison Police daily log shows Branson Police contacted the HPD about 8:40 Tuesday morning requesting officers be on the lookout, or BOLO, for a blue Toyota Camry occupied by two male subjects, one wearing a dark gray hoodie, the other wearing a black hoodie, who were suspected of an armed carjacking in their jurisdiction.The BOLO request also was for a female subject with a red color hair weave, wearing in a beige dress and high heels.
Branson Police Assistant Chief Eric Schmitt said officers were notified after midnight Tuesday of the alleged incident.Schmitt said a man called reporting he was driving home from the Cheeky Monkey bar on Highway 165 when a woman motioned for him to stop. When he stopped, two men with a gun emerged from the darkness and stole his car.Officers were at first unsure of the man’s credibility due to his intoxication level, Schmitt said. Officers went after daylight to check the area to make sure the vehicle hadn’t been wrecked and abandoned, but they didn’t locate it.So, Schmitt said, authorities issued the BOLO. It wasn’t sent only to Harrison Police, but to all neighboring law enforcement agencies.The HPD log shows that someone called about noon Tuesday to report a male subject in a black hoodie and a female subject with red hair were trying to break into cars on the parking lot outside Big Lots, but they were gone when an officer checked the area.It wasn’t clear if that second report was connected to the BOLO.A press release from Schmitt said there were no injuries in a robbery and carjacking involving an 18-year-old female …
