JOPLIN, MO – June 2, 2017 – Empire District and the Branson Landing announced today the availability of electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at the Branson Landing. The media and members of the public are invited to a plug-in event at 10 a.m. on June 7, 2017 to showcase the new chargers. Electric vehicles from Empire’s fleet will also be available. The event will be held at the charging station located in the north BELK parking lot along Branson Landing Boulevard.
The charging stations were installed as part of Empire’s new electric vehicle incentive program. EVOLVe is an initiative to encourage broader adoption of clean, efficient electric vehicles. The initiative includes rebate incentives, educational outreach, and increased availability of EV charging stations within the Empire District Electric Company service area.
“Utilizing electric vehicles makes sense – both environmentally and economically,” explains Brent Baker, Vice President of Customer Experience at Empire. “We applaud the Branson Landing for their forward thinking and we are pleased to partner with them to offer EV charging for their visitors.”
Melissa Hudson, General Manager of Branson Landing, comments, “We’re pleased to offer our patrons complimentary EV charging while they enjoy all the Branson Landing has to offer. A total of eight charging stations are available, four in the north BELK parking lot and four in the south Bass Pro parking lot.”
