Learn about proposed gondola ride at public meeting Monday

BRANSON MO NEWS: The Branson community is invited to an informal meeting regarding a potential gondola project Monday, Nov. 7.

According to a newsletter from the Taney County Partnership, presentations about a gondola project will take place every hour starting at 10:30 a.m. with the last presentation at 6:30 p.m. at Shindigs Restaurant. Each presentation will last about 15 to 20 minutes.

“This is a joint effort between American Gondola Inc., the Branson/Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and the Taney County Partnership seeking to promote economic development in Branson and the surrounding area,” the newsletter states.

Gondola representatives will be there to answer questions, and petitions will be available for those to support the project, according to the newsletter.

Shindigs is located at 3457 W. 76 Country Blvd in Branson.

The newsletter states that a gondola would help with city traffic issues and private investors would fund the project.

“In response to the traffic congestion and lack of a mass transit plan, a new and privately funded approach by American Gondola Inc., has been proposed.

“The solution comes in the form of a ‘gondola’ and will include a comprehensive mass transportation system from the Branson Landing along Missouri 76 to Shepherd of the Hills Expressway to Silver …
