Missouri News: Branson Police Warn Residents of a Possible Roofer Scam

BRANSON MO NEWS: BRANSON, MO – The Branson Police Department would like to warn residents in and around the Branson area of a scam involving a business claiming to be a roofing company that is trying to pressure residents to conduct business over the phone.This particular company is calling residents from a Thayer, Missouri phone number and giving a sales pitch over the phone. However, when you try to call the number back, you get a busy circuit signal and the business doesn’t seem to exist.Police warn residents they should never to feel pressured to do business or leave a deposit, especially over the phone.As we enter the storm season, Branson police warn all residents of “fly by night” or fictitious roofing companies that try to take advantage of storm damage. Residents can always call the City of Branson at (417) 334-3345 to see if a specific company has a business license.
