Nebraska girl brings home national title

Stephanie Amend, the 13-year-old daughter of Dawn and Shawn Amend of Lincoln, brought home the national title of Princess of America Superstar in August.The Princess of America Pageant was held July 31-Aug. 5 in Branson, Missouri. Girls from all over the country competed for the national crown. Required categories of competition included Interview, Personal On Stage Introduction, Formal Wear and On Stage Question. Participants also had the opportunity to enter the optional categories of Talent, Spokesmodel, State Costume, Casual Wear, Photogenic, Cover Model and “Pink Carpet Couture” modeling.The Princess of America Organization is a national pageant system based on the development of confidence and leadership skills for girls, ages 4-24. The growth of each participant is enhanced by friendships fostered all across the United States. An emphasis is placed upon community service and giving back to their community to make a positive difference. Communication skills are furthered though the interview process and on stage speaking opportunities. Delegates learn how to articulate their thoughts which helps prepare them to succeed in future endeavors.The “Superstar” title is awarded to the overall talent winner. Amend won the Superstar title with her contemporary dance routine.Each national titleholder will select a platform during their reign for which they will raise funds, awareness and serve as an advocate.
